That’s right. Trent Richardson has found a new home, and does it come as much surprise that it’s with the Oakland Raiders. If any team and player had a more perfect fit, I haven’t seen it.
Richardson’s career has been in a constant tailspin, culminated by his benching during the Colts playoff run last year. Maybe the Raiders view Richardson as a pure lottery ticket, but I think that two-year, $3.9 million contract could have been spent much better… like on 3.9 million actually lottery tickets.
From my Fantasy Football impact breakdown on RotoExperts.com:
Move along, nothing to see here. If you have even a slimmer of hope for TRich’s Fantasy value, you need to get your head checked. Or, did Richardson’s pitiful finish to 2014 not convince you? Richardson averaged 6.4 carries for 17.2 yards over the final five games, or 2.7 yards per carry.
Hey, maybe the Raiders read my 2014 NFL preseason tweet saying TRich could be the next Cedric Benson. He’s four years in, just as Benson was before breaking out, they’re somewhat similar runners and both have the dreads… You never know. After all, that has to be the only explanation for this move (well, and again, that the Raiders often don’t make sense).
