After Sportsbook.ag pulled their Jim Harbaugh 2015 coaching destination odds due to a suspicious influx of money on Michigan, their revised odds seem reflect that Harbaugh will end up coaching the team that beat him this weekend.
Despite the poetic allure of a return to the school where he once played, Harbaugh does not strike us, or anyone for that matter, as a man who retreats to the college ranks after a disappointing season in the pros. Heading across the bay to Oakland would require a trade that could potentially involve a first-round pick, which is a unique caveat. Niner’s GM Trent Baalke — who Harbaugh has clashed with for his entire tenure in San Francisco — could handicap Harbaugh’s future prospects by holding out for an unreasonably high number of top draft picks.
Harbaugh would have ok said trade, as well.

Then the 49ers would have to negotiate the terms with another club. They would release Harbaugh from the contract he’s currently under and a new team would have a new contract with Jim Harbaugh.”
The alternative for San Francisco would be to keep him for the final season of his contract and let him walk for nothing, which we assume would happen given Harbaugh’s palpable dissatisfaction with his current situation.
